Hey, have you checked out the In Search of Annie Moore press conference available at www.rootstelevision.com? Folks have been asking me to share more details about Annie ever since the news broke about her true story being uncovered. Now I finally have a place to direct the curious for more information -- which isn't to say that you won't be seeing a couple of articles or whatever. But now you can virtually join the crowd at the September 15th press conference, hear her story, learn about the sleuthing involved, and meet her descendants. I'm one of those people who doesn't enjoy watching herself, but even I get pulled into the story. It really was a great history-mystery journey, wasn't it?
BTW, I see that a few others have already checked out Annie on air, so if you're curious about what they're saying, take a look at:

Megan, I am embarrassed to admit, but I watched it this morning, and my husband came in and caught me weeping. He laughed and laughed and laughed. I couldn't help it though. It's such a heartwarming story!
BTW, I think a greatest hits compilation is a fantastic idea! Wish I'd thought of it. ;-)

How does the roots television work? I click on pictures when I go to vlogs but nothing happens. I'm assuming high speed access in needed.

Hi Lee,
So glad you liked it! It was fun for me to see because the whole event was a blur, so there was a lot that hadn't registered in my brain. Reminded me very much of the way I experience reunions that I orchestrate. There's so much to do that it's hard to absorb it all. For what it's worth, it gets me choked up, too -- especially the part toward the end where "Isle of Hope, Isle of Tears" plays over footage of the family.
Take care,
Megan

Hi Henry,
While high speed Internet access isn't strictly required, I would bet that it would be a struggle to view this stuff with dial-up. You might try going to the vlogs, doing something else for a minute or two, and then checking it out. Might just be a matter of giving it time to transfer/buffer, but if that doesn't work, it might be best to try a library or other venue with high-speed access.
Take care,
Megan

Hi Megan,
Well done! After reading your newsletters and following your progress with DNA reseach methods it was a treat to see you on roots television. What a great story and great idea in offering the reward to get the mystery solved. Your leadership and inspiration make you a great asset to the geneological community.

Hey Rich,
Great to hear from you! How go things with the Maybole community? Thanks for your kind remarks. I'm sure there are countless folks out there who feel the same about your contributions to the genealogical community.
