90 Million Free Military Records through D-Day

In case you haven't already caught the news from your favorite bloggers, Ancestry.com has just enhanced its Military Collection to the tune of 90 million searchable records! Click here to learn more.

Better yet, the entire collection is free from now through June 6th (the anniversary of D-Day). Just go to www.ancestry.com/military to get started.

With Memorial Day fast approaching, now is the perfect time to go find yourself or your dad, granddad or great-granddad in the WWII enlistment records. And even if you've been researching for years, don't think you won't find anything new. I searched on Smolenyak and Smolenak and was astonished to find literally hundreds of hits for a pair of fellows who had served in the Marines back in the 19-teens and 1920s! And if there are hits for my surname, you know those databases (about 700 just in this military collection) are overflowing!
