A Sign of the Times

Earlier this year, I had the opportunity to research Barack Obama's roots to uncover exactly where in Ireland his most recent immigrant branch (on his Mom's side) came from. As it turns out, it was Moneygall -- back in 1850. At any rate, I just get a kick out of this t-shirt . . . one more indication of our ever-growing obsession with roots!

Keith:

Speaking of Barack Obama, I examined his genealogy on the web. It turns out he and I are 8th cousins once removed. We both descend from Francis Browning and Elizabeth Lloyd, who lived in the 1700's in Culpepper County, Virginia.

While everyone is related to someone, it is cool to be related to the next president (as long as you believe they would do an excellent job--which I do).
